Like many families, this client wanted to age in place in their forever home. They loved their 1990s Traditional Rambler, but it just didn’t work well for the way they lived and entertained today.  

We were tasked with creating a floor plan that complemented their active social life – which includes hosting weekly happy hours with their golf team and often welcoming 10 to 20 guests for book club and other gatherings.  

First, we needed to ditch the highly compartmentalized floor plan. Our complete Kitchen/Main Level renovation began by folding the old formal dining room into the new, open concept kitchen and capturing 45 wasted square feet of hallway. Designed for beautiful sight lines and great connectivity throughout, the new layout feels much more spacious.

These happy homeowners tell us that “Camp Miller” is just what they wanted and needed. Now they’re truly comfortable whether they’re serving cocktails for 15 in the new “Lounge Area” or enjoying the rare, quiet evening at home.
