New Spaces Artisan Home Tour

About this 1990's Remodeling Project

These homeowners were on the cusp of an empty nest when they hired us to help them with this whole home transformation.  Not only was this home filled with natural light and open spaces, it was also filled with honey oak woodwork, flooring and railings. With dreams of a more contemporary and colorful space, we worked together to blend the old with the new to achieve all of their goals:

  • Complete Update of the entire Kitchen/ Main Level & Lower Level moving towards a more contemporary aesthetic
  • Spacious island for family card games and a view of the TV
  • Low-maintenance materials that would stand the test of time - especially flooring
  • While these homeowners couldn’t quite envision it, we could. This would be an exciting and rare opportunity to bring a little bit of “downtown loft flair” to the suburbs.

With 9 foot ceilings and plenty of square footage, long expanses of stacked cabinetry combining high glass acrylic with brushed aluminum and frosted glass make this space a show stopper . Durable quartz tops, including the large table top island in varying thicknesses provide work space as well as play space. A custom metal laminate pedestal cleverly supports such an expansive top. Dingy, weather ravaged wood flooring was replaced with a more modern and durable resilient floor in a color scheme that would be essential in tying the existing woodwork into the new space.

The formerly unfinished lower level has been transformed into a beautiful urban entertainers dream with features that will keep guests and homeowners alike comfortable and happy; whether they choose to visit the large walk behind bar, shoot a little pool in the billiards area, watch their favorite movie or sports team in the tv lounge or walk out to the back yard pool, this New Space truly has something for everyone! Bonus if they get sleepy from all of that fun they can freshen up in the lower level bathroom or rest in the guest room that is tucked away from the action!

Unlike the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase, the Artisan Home Tour is a more encompassing experience, which translates to the requirement for tickets for admission.
