This owners of this Burnsville kitchen had one clear goal: more space! The family were feeling cramped in the small kitchen of their 1987-built home. The parents needed more space for cooking, while the children needed a place to do their homework and relax.
New Spaces completely restructured the layout of this cramped kitchen to add plenty of room. We removed walls and expanded the kitchen into a space occupied by an unused formal dining room. The new kitchen features a built-in buffet and luxury vinyl plank flooring. Near the door to the backyard is a walk-up bar, making it easy for the homeowners to pop inside while entertaining and grab drinks.
Perfect for Cooking
The spacious new kitchen makes it easy for both weekday dinners and hearty family meals. The kitchen island adds in extra counter space and gives a place to store cookware for easy access. Ample cabinets above and below the sink provide plenty of room for storage. The stove and range top features a gorgeous backslash made from the owners’ collection of mosaic tile. The end result is a kitchen that is both functional and beautiful.
Room to Gather
By adding space to the new kitchen, New Spaces was also able to create several gathering points. The countertops extend into a workstation, so the family can be together while cooking. For adult guests, the wet bar makes the most out of a small area without feeling cramped.
When it comes time to eat, the dining room has a stunning view next to bay windows. Lighting within the hutch and a modern chandelier provide a warm glow. The large table accommodates guests without feeling cramped. With this enviable new kitchen, this family is ready to entertain.
