Scot and Anita’s 1987-built Lakeville home had a gorgeous lot that looked out on woods. The couple had recently sold their cabin and were feeling the loss of that relaxing space. That’s when inspiration struck – why not bring the cabin home to them?
New spaces added an addition on the home to create a four-season porch and deck. First, we created openings between the porch and the living room so it would feel like part of the home and create a breezy space. The new porch features a stunning window wall that lets in plenty of natural light and provides a view of the nearby woods. Cedar ceilings, floors and door frames invoke a cozy, cabin aesthetic. The gorgeous stone fireplace allows the space to be used even in cold months. The reclaimed beam on the mantle adds a rustic touch. Outside, the large porch is perfect for entertaining guests or relaxing while enjoying the outdoors.
Taking advantage of their large wooded lot, this spacious addition to the back of their home offers a place to wind down and relax. Whether they have 5 minutes or 5 hours of downtime, this spacious addition and deck expansion offers the perfect space to unwind.
