Kitchen & Family Room Remodel
Who lives here
Family of four who love to play games together.
Obstacles and Opportunities
These homeowners were ready to upgrade their kitchen and family room from builder-grade honey oak to a modern craftsman style. Amber, a kitchen designer at New Spaces, guided them through the remodeling process – offering suggestions and just “getting” their style.
“From a design standpoint our kitchen is exactly what we wanted, without knowing what we wanted”
Won over by workmanship and character
After seeing our work at the Remodelers’ Showcase, and meeting with kitchen designer Amber, these homeowners chose to work with New Spaces to remodel their kitchen and family room.
Super pantry with pull-out shelves, hanging baskets, and plenty of nooks for snacks and treats.
Phase One: Family Room Reboot
This family revitalized their home to create a modern craftsman feel. Phase one was a new fireplace wall with built-in cabinetry and stacked slate stonework. New hardwood flooring tied the family room into the kitchen.

Perfect Craftsman Kitchen Design
The kitchen was updated in phase two. Swapping out dilapidated cabinets for feature-filled cherry and maple cabinets completely changed the look of the kitchen.
Accent doors that mirror the existing iron stair railing, unique tile features, and granite tops provide a truly custom look to the home.
Before and After
Before: Builder grade honey oak cabinets lack character
After: New craftsman kitchen and family room are warm and inviting
