Sometimes the right remodeling plan calls for rethinking more than one room.
Lots of the houses built during the 20th century were collections of small rooms with narrow hallways linking spaces together. We see that approach in 1920s bungalows in Edina and Minneapolis as well as 1970 and 1980 homes in Burnsville, Apple Valley and other”south of the river” suburbs. For most people today, that kind of floorplan simply doesn’t work for the way we want to live today. Sometimes we create new space from a combination of existing spaces – resulting in lovely open floorplans – or we discover that the space that’s needed just doesn’t exist and we’ll recommend an addition to the home.
