Bathroom Remodel

Apple Valley, MN

Who lives here

A couple with the tiny bathroom blues.

Obstacles and Opportunities

The master bedroom suite in this Apple Valley home was off-kilter. While the bedroom was quite spacious, the en-suite bathroom and closet were tiny. New Spaces’ solution to this master bedroom challenge was to steal a little space from the bedroom and give it to the bathroom and closet.

Before and After: Bathroom Renovation

The master bedroom suite in this Apple Valley home was off-kilter. While the bedroom was quite spacious, the en-suite bathroom and closet were tiny. New Spaces’ solution to this master bedroom challenge was to steal a little space from the bedroom and give it to the bathroom and closet. Moving the wall and doorway just a few feet created enough space for a second sink and huge walk-in closet. Sweet!

The doorway was moved into the bedroom and made wider. The glass door and sidelight keeps the bedroom quiet, while allowing light to flow through the space. A second sink was tucked into the corner.

Defining the walk-in closet and dressing area with an arch instead of doors makes the space feel roomy and luxurious. Special design touches include beveled glass on the doors, furniture grade cabinets and granite countertops.

The private toilet and shower is tucked away, around the corner from the vanity. Frameless shower doors make this small space feel more comfortable and pleasant.

The view from above shows the layout of the master suite.
