Older Home Modernized to Make it Functional for Today’s Lifestyle

The couple residing in this older Minneapolis home near Lake Calhoun sought to not only modernize their home, but more importantly make it more functional for their lifestyles. This whole home remodel started off in the kitchen which was originally adorned with pink laminate cabinets and countertops from a previous remodel.

New Spaces designer, Amber Newton, also worked around their desire to be able to recycle efficiently in their home while complying with city rules. They were extremely happy with the finished product, and greatly enjoy the more relaxed environment that an upstairs addition added to their living space.

Amber helped the homeowners make choices to match the original classic style of home, replicating original architectural details like stained glass in the cabinet doors. There’s a charming powder room with a traditional pedestal sink, and spacious master bedroom suite.

Homeowner’s Testimonial

The homeowners wanted to work with a company that could provide design guidance, professional project management and masterful carpentry. According to the clients, New Spaces went “beyond expectations” to provide value and a positive remodeling experience.

They now have comfortable master bedroom, walk-in-closet area, sitting room and large bathroom. They were pleasantly surprised that the new owners suite allows them an extra half-hour of time together each day.
